SIMSY to deploy AtomBeam Neurpac to compact LiDAR data for autonomous devices and tracking
September 17, 2026 — SIMSY will deploy AtomBeam’s Neurpac data-compaction solution across its cellular network to move LiDAR, telemetry and other high-volume machine data from autonomous devices far more efficiently.
In testing, Neurpac cut LiDAR traffic by 75% on the uplink — the tightest part of a cellular connection — effectively multiplying LiDAR bandwidth tenfold.
MORAGA, Calif., September 17, 2026 — SIMSY and AtomBeam have announced that SIMSY will deploy AtomBeam’s Neurpac solution across its cellular network to compact LiDAR data for autonomous devices, drones, industrial automation, robotics, fleet EV charging, smart buildings and edge AI/IoT applications. The two companies carried out joint testing on cellular links and recorded a 75% reduction in LiDAR traffic end to end.
Why this matters for cellular
Cellular networks are asymmetric by design. Devices get far less bandwidth on the uplink than they get on the downlink, which is where sensor-heavy workloads such as LiDAR, high-resolution video and continuous telemetry get stuck. Neurpac reduces the number of bytes a device needs to send in the first place, so more data moves across the same radio link in the same time.
What Neurpac does
- •AI-based data compaction. Machine learning models encode and decode data patterns in microseconds, cutting transmission sizes by about 75% on average.
- •A tenfold uplift for LiDAR. On LiDAR specifically, the compaction effectively multiplies the available uplink by around 10x. Across other data types the equivalent uplift is around 4x.
- •Any machine-generated data. Alongside LiDAR, Neurpac handles system logs, sensor data, databases, SCADA streams and video, across wired, cellular and satellite networks.
- •Software-only, drop-in. Neurpac deploys inside existing network stacks without changes to the device or the application above it.
What it means for SIMSY customers
SIMSY customers already deploying cellular-connected autonomous devices, drones, industrial equipment and vehicle fleets gain the ability to move far larger data streams across the same cellular connection, without changing hardware or compromising on the security and compliance posture that led them to SIMSY in the first place.
“The uplink has always been the constraint in cellular. You get far less bandwidth going up than coming down, and that is precisely where large data like LiDAR gets stuck. Neurpac compacted our LiDAR data by 75% in testing, so we are pushing a fraction of the bytes across the tightest part of the network. That is a real differentiator for anyone who needs to move and use LiDAR at scale, and our customers benefit from it immediately.”
— Alex Taylor, CEO and co-founder, SIMSY
“SIMSY is already the network enterprises choose when they deploy cellular-connected devices in high-stakes environments. Neurpac makes that network do more with the bandwidth it already has, so customers move larger data streams faster. They gain that performance without giving up any of the security and compliance that led them to SIMSY in the first place.”
