SIMSY at ROSCon UK 2026: private cellular for robot fleets, with Atombeam and Tailscale

20 October 2026

University of Edinburgh, Pollock Estate, 21-23 October 2026

SIMSY will be at ROSCon UK 2026, the UK's ROS developer conference. It takes place at the University of Edinburgh's Pollock Estate from 21 to 23 October.

Robots are moving out of the lab and onto warehouse floors, farms, pipelines and remote sites. Many of them rely on cellular, and that creates three problems. Data volumes keep growing, links are constrained and costly, and remote access too often depends on public IPs and open ports. At ROSCon we're showing how SIMSY, working with two partners, deals with all three.

Less data over the same link

Atombeam's Neurpac is a lossless data compaction layer that runs in the network path. It learns from a robot's traffic and encodes it into compact codewords in near real time.

Atombeam reports an average 75% reduction in message size and up to 4x more usable throughput over existing links. That means video, LiDAR, sensor and positioning data can travel together over a single cellular connection.

Fleet access without exposure

SIMSY Bridge connects a SIMSY cellular network directly into a customer's Tailscale network. Engineers get SSH, CLI and web access to every robot over cellular, with no public IPs and no open ports.

One bridge serves the whole fleet, so there's no need to install and maintain Tailscale on every device. Bridge is available as a managed service or self-hosted.

SIMSY's own cloud-native mobile core

Both integrations run on SIMSY's own cloud-native mobile core. Every robot sits on a private network that SIMSY controls end to end, not on the public internet. Customers choose their own IP addressing and routing policy.

With multi-APN, a single SIM can carry control traffic, video and individual containers on separate networks. SIMSY supplies and pre-configures the routers too, so a robot fleet arrives ready to connect.

Private by default, smaller on the wire, and reachable only by the people who should reach it.
